Blythe Cosmetics x Careline

By The Beauty Cupboard - August 31, 2019

Last week, Careline released their collaboration with actress Andrea Brilliantes, the line was dubbed "Blythe Cosmetics" after Brilliantes' instagram username.

The line includes lipsticks, a highlighter palette, eyeliners, liquid eyeshadows and two face palletes (eyeshadow quads with a cream lip & cheek tint)

Starlight Eyes Liquid Eyeshadow

I picked up some of the items in the collection except for the lipsticks and eyeliners because I knew I would not have any use for them since I have a lot of those items in my makeup collection.

What first caught my eye was the liquid eyeshadows, it comes in three shades but I only bought two because the other one just seemed a tad too bronze for my liking.

Both liquid eyeshadows are extremely pigmented and are super pretty, the only downside is that they are not waterproof at all, so you need to be careful about using this in humid and hot weather.

Face Palette in Twilight
My favorite item in the collection is this Face Palette in Twilight, the shades are super wearable and suitable for everyday use, I also love the fact that it comes with a lip & cheek cream that happens to be in the perfect reddish shade to give you that girl next door glow.

Face Palette Swatches

The shadows are highly pigmented as you can see in the swatches above and the lip & cheek cream may look intimidating when swatched but it turns into a natural looking shade once you put it on your lips or cheeks, it's also very easy to blend.

But same as the liquid eyeshadows, the powder shadows are also not waterproof and can easily be removed with just water alone.

Sadly, the last product disappointed me quite a bit, the Stardust palette which is the highlighter palette of the Blythe collection comes with three shades and although the colors are beautiful on, they are very powdery for my liking and again it's not waterproof but overall for the price it's a good product especially if you are new to the makeup scene or you are just starting to get the hang of using highlighters.

I personally like mixing the white and bronze shade to highlight my nose and nose bridge.

Overall, as with every collection-- Blythe cosmetics has some hits and misses but overall the collection is perfect for young ones who are just starting out with makeup as it's not too loud or too much to wear to school.
